BLOG ON CANVA (INFORMATIVE TOOL)
BLOG 1: VISUAL LEARNING WITH CANVA
CANVA is fun and easy to use design tool that really changed how i make teaching and learning materials. I used CANVA to design different kinds of posters and presentations when doing my co-curricular activities and when i used it, i realized that i could definitely use it when i am learning or even teaching. with this mindset, I used it to design a bright and colorful poster about the "water cycle" for class iv students (during ICT class when we were told to make a lesson plan). with it's simple drag and drop features, already made templates, and large picture library, it helped me create something simple yet eye-catching that made the topic easier for students to learn and understand.
There are many features that is helpful but one of the thing or features that i really liked is how easy and flexible it is. i could mix pictures and images, icon and text in such a way that it looks good, beautiful and make sense. I also liked using Canva because it gave me a chance to be creative and also learn how to use digital tools. I was quite poor in using technologies and in ICT subject and I somewhat lost interest in learning ICT but after using Canva i was proved wrong. So Canva is quite easy and young learners can also use it with a little bit of instructions.
As the saying goes, " Every good has its shadow", I also encountered or noticed a small problem. I noticed that if the students use Canva, they might focus too much on decorating and forget about the main content. To help with that, I would suggest giving simple design tips and reminding them to focus on what they are trying to teach or present through their posters and presentations.
Even though I am still a student myself, this experience and moment helped me see how incorporating visuals can make learning more interactive, enjoyable easier and understandable, especially for students who understand better through visual learning (pictures, images, and videos). Canva fits really well with the TPACK model as it brings together what we teach (content), how we teach (pedagogy), and the tools we use (technology). I can definitely see myself using Canva more in the future lesson and student projects.
Canva is an informative tool as my blog clearly explains how Canva used to design educational posters, how it supports visual learning, and how it aligns with TPACK. It provides informative insights into both teacher and student use.
