REFLECTION ON ASSISTIVE TECHNOLOGY FOR INCLUSIVE CLASSROOMS

Image
Inclusive education highlights that all children- irrespective of their abilities- are entitled to equal chances to learn. in this reflection, i examine two assistive tools; TEXT-TO-SPEECH TOOLS and ALTERNATIVE KEYBOARDS. These tools not only aid learners with special needs but also foster equity, independence, and active involvement in regular classes. TEXT-TO-SPEECH (TTS) TOOLS; TEXT-TO-SPEECH (TTS) is a digital tool that converts written texts into oral speech, enhancing accessibility for individuals with visual impairments, reading challenges, or learning disabilities. It is commonly utilized for the ease of multitasking, like listening to emails or articles while moving. TTS tools utilize AI and speech synthesis to generate voices that sound natural in various languages and accents. This technology is embedded in numerous devices and applications, such as smartphones, computers, and e-readers. well known examples of TEXT-TO-SPECCH applications or tools are google TEXT-TO-SPEECH, N...

BLOG 3: GAMIFIED LEARNING WITH QUIZZIZ (constructive tool)

Image
QUIZZIZ is an interactive, gamified learning platform centered on building quizzes to assess students learning. in addition to traditional, multiple choice quiz types, quizziz also offers a wide variety of customizable options to create quiz questions tailored to the assessment level, subject matter, or desired response types. quizziz can be used to create interactive lessons, polls, surveys, and even memes that can be embedded into a quiz or lessons. QUIZZIZ is a self-paced quiz platform that brings game-like excitement into assessments. i used it to revise "food chain" with young learners (i went to teach some small monks in Satsham and used quizziz to teach them about food chain but since i lost the initial quizziz question paper i made a new one). they enjoyed the game and they interacted with me a lot. they said that they had so much fun answering the multiple choice questions that was timed and it was also accompanied by fun music and photos. the colorful interface and...

BLOG 2: INTERACTIVE BRAINSTORMING WITH IDEABOARDZ (communicative)

Image
As a student still learning about digital tools, i recently had the chance to use ideaboardz during our ict class. Madam introduced us to this tool as a brainstorm and share ideas in a group. It was my first time using it, and i found it simple, clear, and useful for communicating with others. In class, madam created an ideaboardz with two different sections, and we were asked to post our thoughts on the given topic. Each of us typed our responses on sticky notes and added them under the right columns. It felt like a digital noticeboard where everyone could read and reflect on each others ideas. what i liked most was that everyone got a chance to share, even those who might be shy to speak out loud. One example i remember is when we were discussing the definition of digital native and digital immigrant columns. It was interesting to see how different people had different ideas, and it helped me understand the topic better by seeing it from multiple perspectives. At first, it felt ...

BLOG ON CANVA (INFORMATIVE TOOL)

Image
BLOG 1: VISUAL LEARNING WITH CANVA CANVA is fun and easy to use design tool that really changed how i make teaching and learning materials. I used CANVA to design different kinds of posters and presentations when doing my co-curricular activities and when i used it, i realized that i could definitely use it when i am learning or even teaching. with this mindset, I used it to design a bright and colorful poster about the "water cycle" for class iv students (during ICT class when we were told to make a lesson plan). with it's simple drag and drop features, already made templates, and large picture library, it helped me create something simple yet eye-catching that made the topic easier for students to learn and understand. There are many features that is helpful but one of the thing or features that i really liked is how easy and flexible it is. i could mix pictures and images, icon and text in such a way that it looks good, beautiful and make sense. I also liked using Can...
